Nia Sapphire's Anime Review: Chiisana Kyoujin Microman

So the first anime that I will review is:

Chiisana Kyoujin Microman, one of my childhood anime!

Where three adorable kids

with some action figure sized pedophiles micromen from outer space.

What it's about:

One spring day, a small package is delivered to Kohei Kuji, a school boy. When he opens the box he finds five small action-figures inside. To his surprise, they begin to move around and start to talk to him. They introduce themselves as "Microman", coming from the planet Micro Earth which is located at the far end of the universe. They start to explain about their mission, telling him that Earth is now in danger. There is an evil power, call Acroyer, who is conspiring to conquer the universe. The five Microman are sent by the mysterious Professor K to Kohei to save Earth. (via Wikipedia.com) With a special watch, they can shrink into the micromen's size.

So here's the cast:

He has the ability to walk in space without the help of land, gravity and logic.

His name is Arthur, whereas he's the hero, the leader and the main character among the micromen, and the Messiah. Like most typical shounen heroes, he has a strong will, sense of responsibility and heroic kindness. Strange why he doesn't have a helmet like the others. He's not an angsty character like the image above potray him. I still remembered that his name when this anime is dubbed in my country is Issa. Maybe because his name's pronouncation in japanese is Asa???

The one with bishounen aura and bishounen sparkles everywhere.

This one is Izam, the one with a calm and cool personality. He has the power to manipulate plants. (R U Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho??!!) Qualifies to be the chick although he's not, and he loves beauty. His silent personality makes everyone hard to expect what's he been thinking, including Arthur.

The Big Guy.

And this one is Odin, the oldest and the physically strongest. Also the maturest, as he act like a big brother or a papa bear around. He has the power of flame.

He's so strong that he could make Arthur look like a princess.

The Smart Guy.
This one is Edison. He has the power of electricity and intelligence, as the tin says.

The Lancer, I think.

This is Walt, who has a happy-go-lucky personality, and loves fooling around. He has the power of water.

Wait a second! We have another shounen hero here!

And here's Kuuji Kouhei, the main human character. He is an energetic, a brave, caring and  kind-hearted boy. The micromen chose to be with him after they saw Kouhei saved a bug, making a conclusion that he will not hurt the weak and the small creatures.

The only female in the show, but this is shounen anyway.

This is Mami, Kouhei's best friend and classmate.

Every anime must have a little sibling tag along.
This is Yuuta, Kouhei's naive and crybaby little brother, but he's still a kid after all.

My thoughts:

I love this anime, as I and my little brother always follow it on tv during weekends. Sadly it's really rare to find the full episodes of this nowdays, only episode 1-26 available in Internet. It's really classic and original, it's not like shounen anime nowdays, not a single "nakama" word heard, no overloading bishounens (this is not a shoujo) as many shounes anime nowdays have a male character who gets overrated just because he is a bishounen, no overloading ship tease (I repeat, this is not a shoujo) as pairings will do nothing useful but occuring shipping wars, and no fanservice scene in sight. And no fucked up past/childhood. Also, Arthur and Kouhei doesn't address themselves with "ore", but Arthur addresses himself with "watashi' and Kouhei uses "boku". One more thing, Arthur is not a headstrong and angsty guy, and Kouhei is not a bratty and noisy kid. And last but not least, the power of nakama is never used in this show. So sad and disappointing that it is really hard to find the full episodes. So sad that my little brother no longer remember this show, he only remember Arthur. So sad that to think that this is a really great shounen anime, yet it is not as popular as Naruto.

My favorite character:

ARTHUR!!!!!!!!! :D
I saw many girls love Izam, but I still love Arthur~ <3<3<3

 My OTP (aka favourite pairing):

Bishonen + Cute Shotaro Boy = SHOTA SHOTA FIRE ENDLESS NIGHT

I have mentioned that this anime have no ship tease between the characters, but there's a lot of bromance going between Arthur and Kouhei. I ship both of them altogether, but not in a romantic way. I just love their interactions between each other. It didn't take long, but Arthur and Kouhei have been so close to each other, like brothers. They cared a lot for each other, and they dared to sacrifice their life for each other sake, one of it is shown when Arthur and Kouhei get captured by the bad guys in episode 4, Kouhei begs them to free Arthur, and Arthur begs them to free Kouhei. Oh my god, what a beautiful relationship. Usually Arthur will go and fight the bad guys, while Kouhei just stay and watch or wait, while worrying about him. One of Arthur's overused line is "I will protect you, Kouhei." The fact that both of them are the main characters make them blend with each other perfectly. And to think that Arthur and Kouhei's special bond is one of the key points in the whole show, and one of the factors of Arthur's strength and accomplishments. And because I'm a fujoshi.

Kouhei tries to wake the unconscious Arthur up while reminding him that this anime is 52 episodes long, so he can't die now because he's the main guy.
Kouhei and Arthur arm-wrestling to decide who is the true main character of the show.
Is it just me or Arthur's arm look so big here.
I knew this kind of thing will happen.
Awwwwwww cute ;w;
Beware kids, pedophile on strike.
Arthur acting as a knight in shining armor for Kouhei. ;P

Perhaps Arthur is affected by the "Dulcinea Effect" towards Kouhei.

*Note: The "Dulcinea Effect" means is the strange compulsion  many male heroes (female heroes is also possible too) have to champion, quest for, or even die for, girls (or guys) they met five minutes ago.
